The Bay Area is a hot spot for the LPGA this year. In April, Swinging Skirts was held at Lake Merced and the US Women's Open is coming to CordeValle in July. These tournaments provide once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for our participants to get up close and personal with the Touring Pros. For example, Rhea, one of our participants and a Junior Coach, walked "inside the ropes" at Swinging Skirts. She shadowed LPGA Pro Tiffany Joh, who finished 11th at the event. Tiffany was engaging and encouraging all day long. Read a few secrets about Tiffany and how Rhea connected what she learned at The First Tee of Silicon Valley with what she witnessed at Swinging Skirts here. Thank you to the LPGA, Swinging Skirts, and the US Women's Open for engaging with our participants!
Our community is what makes The First Tee of Silicon Valley unique. No matter your age or level in our organization, you have a built-in go-to-team. From participants, to junior coaches, to Instructors and Board members, we can rely on each other on and off the course. One example is a recent connection John Spadafore, Program Instructor and accounting major at CSU Monetery Bay, made with Jay Stewart, Board Member and tax partner at PwC. On behalf of his university Accounting Society, John used resources from his Ace classes and as a volunteer to connect with Jay about being an accounting professional. Read more here.
